A new method

After a decade of research, scientists know that carbon nanotubes hold the promise of creating novel devices such as single-electron transistors, flat panel displays, and nanolithography systems. But in order to translate these achievements into products, nanotubes need to be manufactured into physical devices quickly, easily, and cheaply. The current practice is far from commercially viable, due to its poor control of this novel material. This research aims to develop a new method for transforming nanotubes into easily handleable and produceable building blocks, a technique that has some very compelling immediate applications.
