High data rate transmitters

There is an increasing demand for the transmission of wireless data. However transmitting more data wirelessly uses more energy, reducing the battery life of portable handsets. It also increases heat generated at transmitter base stations. By using novel transmitter designs, this project will develop very energy-efficient, high data rate radio frequency transmitters that could be used for broadband wireless communications. These transmitters would allow cellular base stations and receivers to transmit using less power, increasing battery life in handsets and reducing heat generation in base stations.

Eta Devices

The technology from this project was spun out into a startup company, Eta Devices.
