Charles Paul
Chuck Paul is a materials scientist and industry leader with more than three decades of experience in adhesive technologies, polymer science, and innovation strategy. After a long career guiding global R&D and helping shape corporate venturing efforts at Henkel Adhesives, he founded GlueIQ LLC, where he works with companies and entrepreneurs advancing new materials and adhesive solutions. Chuck serves on the boards of A20 Advanced Materials, Octet Scientific, and Loop CO2. In addition, he mentors at The Engine and Endless Frontier Labs, is an active deep tech Angel Investor with the Chemical Angel Network, and sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology.
Chuck’s work has spanned the full spectrum of adhesive and polymer development, from hot melts and pressure-sensitive formulations to adhesion science and new structural materials. At Henkel, he served as Vice President of Technology where he ran a global technology platform, and subsequently provided technology assessments on all acquisition targets, and led the company’s North American corporate venturing activities. In the latter role he has been a regular presence in the start-up ecosystem in Boston for over 10 years. Before Henkel he was the sole technical fellow at National Starch & Chemical, contributing to more than 50 U.S. patents and several book chapters.
Chuck earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
