Challenge to screen drug combinations
In the United States, antibiotic-resistant infections cause over 23,000 deaths and $20-35 billion in direct healthcare costs. Modern biology suggests that combinations of drugs are more effective than a single antibiotic, however, screening all combinations is an intractable challenge. This project plans to bring combinatorial discovery within reach by lowering costs and increasing throughput more than 6-fold over the current state-of-the-art.
