To convey the great work of the Deshpande grantees and the Center, Amy orchestrates all the Deshpande events and communications to the innovation ecosystem.
Amy is an experienced events and communications professional with extensive background in higher education. She joined the Deshpande Center in the fall of 2016 to plan, promote, and execute all the logistical coordination for the events, including sponsorship. She also maintains the website, creates and distributes the quarterly newsletter and all supporting communication pieces from the Center.
Prior to MIT, Amy managed event accounts at an global destination management company. There she created and executed detailed client proposals for dine-arounds, conferences, tours and corporate functions. Before that, Amy worked for Georgetown University, planning large scale fundraising and alumni events both domestically and internationally. At Georgetown, she negotiated contracts and managed complex budgets while meticulously coordinating events ranging from intimate dinners for 20, to Homecoming tailgates for crowds of over 5000 attendees.
Amy earned a BS in Media Studies with a minor in Marketing from Radford University.
